Are Warner Media Intends To Sell Netherrealm?

The separation of Warner Media and AT&T has created many problems, and the fate of many members of these large companies is still unknown.

The latest news was that all Warner Media gaming studios, Rocksteady, NetherRealm and TT Games, will be run by the new company. New reports have surfaced that Warner Bros. intends to sell NetherRealm and TT Games.

Except for Kurden from the Windows Central site mentioned in the Xbox Two podcast. Warner Bros. believes that NetherRealm and TT Games have no plans for their future plans, except for Corden. It seems that they were thinking of selling these two studios for a while. However, Kurden does not know if this decision is new or old. The documents that have been obtained do not have a specific date and he cannot speak with certainty in this regard.

This is not the first time that rumors have been spread in this regard. Before the start of E3 2021, everyone believed that Microsoft had bought a new studio. One of the main options in these rumors was Rocket Studios or NetherRealm. However, no news was published and these rumors were almost forgotten.

But why might NetherRealm Studios and TT Games have no place in WarnerMedia’s future plans? Mortal Kombat’s poor performance may have caused Warner Media to lose interest in the IP. Traveler’s Tales, on the other hand, has always developed Lego games, and buying their royalties is very difficult and expensive.

Of course, Warner Bros. does not intend to sell any of its studios. A few weeks ago, we saw that Electronic Arts bought Playdemic Studio from Warner Media. Playdemic is the maker of the mobile game Golf Clash, and Electronic Arts spent $ 1.4 billion to buy it.

In May, we saw the merger of Warner Media and Discovery with a contract worth $ 42 billion. Thus, WarnerMedia assets form a common network with Discovery cable channels (including TLC, Animal Planet, Food Network, and HGTV) and present their content directly through the HBO Max and Discovery Plus streaming platforms.
