Persona 5 has been a huge success for Sega and Atlus Studios, and it looks like Persona 6 has begun.
The last few years have seen the release of Persona 5 Royal and Persona 5 Strikers, which are directly related to the fifth version. Not surprisingly, Sega and Atlus Studios have begun developing the sixth version . Of course, it seems that this game is still in the early stages of development and Atlus Studio is in the preparation phase.
An interview with several members of the team can be found on the Japanese studio site, and the making of Persona 6 has been confirmed in this interview. Of course, the studio is not trying to take advantage of the popularity of the fifth version and they want to make a title that is better than Persona 5.
Atlus director Naoto Hiraoka noted that the studio is feeling the pressure to make Persona 6.
Thanks to the great support we received for Persona 5, we felt a sense of accomplishment. But we can not stop here. When building Persona 4, there was pressure on the team to perform better than Persona 3. Now version 6 should be better than version 5. However, with the current team, it will be difficult to make a better title than the fifth version. I’m eager to put this barrier in the shoes of the new people we are hiring. Our studio is the right place for those who want to have a creative challenge in making video games.
From the words of Navo Hirauka, it can be seen that Atlus Studio needs more members to make the sixth version. The developer is also working on another game called Project Re Fantasy, which was introduced in 2017. However, we do not have any specific information about this project yet, and after the release of this game, they will probably focus on Persona 6.
